get to know yourself
"If you don't know the purpose of a thing, abuse is inevitable." -Myles Monroe
The only way to know the purpose of a thing is to know the mind of the maker. You don't ask the thing what its purpose is; you ask the creator of the thing what its purpose is.
If you created a boundary during a toxic friendship it would be foolish to assume that boundary is necessary in all friendships. The purpose of the boundary was to protect you; but the mind was under attack during the creation of that boundary.
If you created a routine during a time of rest it would not benefit you to follow that routine in a time of transformation. The purpose of the routine was to get you to slow down, but the mind was in recovery during the creation of the routine.
Considering where your mind is now & where you would like to see yourself in both the near and distant future, what purpose are you looking to support at this time? Be honest, is the math mathing??
the mind + the purpose = the thing you want to create
Set up a meeting with all the versions of yourself that live in your head. Get clear on who's good at what and start delegating the responsibilities. There is a time to be flexible and there is a time to be unwavering. Create the proper guidelines that keep you moving steady towards your purpose, hold yourself accountable and be grateful for the progress without expecting perfection.
- what structures are working for you; and which ones need to be burned to the ground?
- what routines are helping you stay on track; and which ones are keeping you stuck in a cycle that no longer works?
- what habits are making autopilot work for you; and which ones make it work against you?
